Guest Scope Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 My wife (who loves the phone, btw - running JJ Rls 7) keeps complaining about missing SMS messages when they arrive on the phone, she doesnt hear the notification sound.. We have tried just about all the built in sounds, but none of them are loud enough/high pitch enough for her to hear the phone if it is in the jacket or is another room. Can somebody please recommend me a way of making this better? Can you tweak the notification sound to play for longer? Repeat after x minutes? How do I get a higher pitch sound on to the phone and use this as the notification sound?
Guest Lew247 Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Not sure about that rom, but in the Modaco rom the notification sounds for sms is in /system/media/audio/notifications The files are mp3's Enclosed is the one I use - it's loud enough for me Push the file(sound) you want to the above location using ADB or Android CommanderAlarmLoud.mp3
Guest m_w_clarke Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 With Handcent being used for messages, you can get a repeat notification. I have mine set up for repeating 3 times, every 5 minutes until I read the message.

Guest AlphaVision Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) You can also create a media/audio/notifications on your SD card and the phone will include those in the notifications list as well. I use that method since they are aloways there and don't need to re-push them after a wipe Edited January 31, 2011 by AlphaVision
