Guest SilentMobius Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 And loving it. Despite not having access to the accelerometer I'm finding all sorts of interesting things. The Wi-fi does _not_ switch off as soon as the screen goes off Now the current build of CM7 uses the stock Advent kernel so this means that the connection between the wi-fi and backlight is in the framework rather than the kernel. Though this doesn't solve all problems as the Tegra2 still fails to get woken up by the Android AlarmManager sometimes so all processing shuts down after a little while with the screen off. Now I hear that the later kernels are _much_ better at handling Tegra2 power-save. So this is all looking good. Paul, other than the wi-fi, bluetooth and touch screen driver is there much that is unique about the advent kernel source compared to the AOSP kernel? (Which i believe is now more advanced in its tegra2 support than the nvidia developer kernel? I'll probably try a diff at the weekend, but I though I'd ask) Also, the wake-up lag has almost disappeared, which let me to realise that I get a _lot_ of lag if I connect/disconnect the wi-fi so I'm wondering if the wake-up lag is all due to the wi-fi starting back up the moment the screen comes on.
Guest Sir Gash Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Yeah, I noticed this too as mentioned in the CM7 thread here: http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...a1-advent-vega/ Another thing fixed (or not broken should I say) is the volume actually works correctly (on all Vega ROMS there is no change beyond 50% to volume). P.S. Have you checked your 32-bit gallery thread recently ;)

BTW, I've remapped the volume buttons as back/menu and the "back" button as Home so soft versions aren't needed. Also, removing the "CALL" entries from the button mapping stops the phone app popping up.
