Guest andi_baden Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) Hi all, i'm using an ZTE Blade, no sim lock, rooted and with android 2.1. It's a really amazing smartphone. Only one point is driving me crazy. Since about a week i try to remove the zte logo and the zte animation. I cannot count the forum entries i was looking for a solution. I was able to put an bootanimation.zip in the /data/local/directory. If i use the the terminal emulation on the blade, i can see the bootanimation.zip in the directory, but nothing changed. The boot logo of zte and the animation are still there. Is there anyone who can help me? Please note that i'm new to linux and android. Thanks a lot P.S.: Please excuse my bad english Edited February 2, 2011 by andi_baden
Guest ztedd Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 i think you have to put the new bootanimation.zip (e.g. this one: http://android.modaco.com/content/forum/32...android-splash/ ) in /system/media - overwriting the old one. you need root access for that (try the app universal androot) and then do it using the terminal. or you install a new custom rom with android 2.2 that also has a new animation as this one: FLB-FROYO G2 - version r7a http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...zte-blade-beta/ it's quite easy and safe to install - follow this guide: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-the-zte-blade/ (steps 1. and 2.)
Guest Rotmann Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Why don't you switch the whole ROM to 2.2, that is amazing so much better than 2.1

Thanks for your answer, i will try it tomorrow and post if i had success Edit: first i searched for the bootanimation.zip in /system/media, no file there. Then i copied my bootanimation.zip via terminal in the folder /system/media. Nothing happend! Edited February 4, 2011 by andi_baden

But, if i install the new rom, i fear that the settings and apps are in english. Is it possibble to download german language files? Thanks
