Android market online

Hi,

There is a online market for android, dont think you need to install a market.apk anymore if you don't want to.

http://market.android.com/

This sounds daft, but how do I link the Vega to the account? Never used the market before, tried briefly last night logging into a Google Account linked to a Yahoo e-mail address, the 'My Market Account' page shows 'There are no Android devices associated with this account'. I did this from the Vega browser itself, how do I get it to recognise?

Running the unmodded firmware so it'd be great to be able to access the market this way!

I know there's probably a really simple answer to this, apologies...

You have to have the market installed on your Vega, though.

It also links automatically. Just use the market on your tablet for a bit, and then see if its details appears on the market webstore. If they don't, you'll probably have to wait for a bit longer.

Yeah once you "login" the market on your android device and accept the t's and c's it will appear under your devices on the website.

Oh I see that makes sense, but you can only get that adding custom rom, that right? Might do that at some point, bit wary as this Vega is a replacement I only recently got as the backlight on the other one died, put v1.04 with Flash back on it haha!

Have tried to access the web based Market but it seems the SSL certificates have not been set-up correctly as my browser complains about the site being 'untrusted' which would be a bit of a fopa on Google's part ;)

Probably you can still use it safely but I'd personally rather wait till they have attended to that.

Update:- Other people are having same problem on new Market as follows:- "When signing in to https://market.android.com/ there's an untrusted connection error, because the cert is valid for *.google.com not *.android.com; might be the cause of some issues listed".

Can you let me know if you experience this as well please???

Update:- For those people like me still experiencing problems it seems that Google are aware of the issue and it is down to them trying to merge product account information for Google account holders see here and if you are one of the unlucky ones you will still get the above error message using the the web-based Market

advent have said they don't care what roms we use, custom or otherwise, they just support the hardware. So if you put on a custom rom with market, then something were to go wrong you can still return it faulty.
