Request : Orange HTC Guide?

I recently purchased a HTC, on Orange.

Now, I;m not sure what rooting is, but I've heard the Orange firmware is bloated, and slow. So I'd liek to remove it, and go back to the default OS.

I realise there are indeed guides to this, but they seem pretty complex? Are there any simple, straight forward guides for this, and maybe Rooting if that is something I shoudl try too?

Bare in mind that debranding will mean you can't ever go back to the Orange software so if it develops a fault you'll be lucky if they do anything
