Guest adamguest1985 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) I've grabbed Universal Androot and am using it on my stock ROM, but every so often when using an app requiring root, it tells me i'm not rooted, and I have to run Universal Androot again. Why isn't it staying there? The SU app is always in my drawer, so it's not "uninstalling" as such, just not staying active, for whatever reason... any ideas? edit: to be honest, i would rather remove androot and root using my pc for a permanant fix that wouldn't need a visable app (apart from SU I assume that has to stay?) Guest DarkFlux Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Universal Androot is weird like that... Once I rooted my SF I removed Universal Androot all together.
Guest adamguest1985 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Universal Androot is weird like that... Once I rooted my SF I removed Universal Androot all together. I'm assuming you left it rooted then used a file manager to remove Androot, rather than 'unrooting' first? I tried this, but after a while (reboot, or just sleeping a few times) it wasn't rooted, so I had to re-install, androot, and root again. Confused.

I 've got the exact same problem, when i reboot my phone is not rooted. I'm not sure if i have done something wrong.. Do we have to change any settings for the root to be permanent? I've got the TFT so i can't use the method described on the sticky. Any suggestions? EDIT Tried a permanent root with z4root but still the same problem. Edited February 4, 2011 by batig
Guest batig Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) In the end i just used this guide to install clockwork and can now easily switch between my original rom and a custom rom which of course is rooted permanently. EDIT Still, i would appreciate it if someone told me what was the matter.. Edited February 5, 2011 by batig
Guest That-Guy Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Yep this is a know problem with Universal Androot, at least on the Blade anyway. Your best bet is to install a custom ROM which comes rooted already ;)
