Guest TylerDurdenK Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Check it out. Looks like it's up to the task. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Car-Holder...#ht_2779wt_1139 I bought this one before properly looking ;) it's £9 and look identical. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WINDSCREEN-SUCTION-T...d#ht_4305wt_905 Edited February 3, 2011 by TylerDurdenK
Guest Sanddancer75 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 When yours turns up can you take a picture of it fitted please. I'd be tempted to pick one up, but want to see how much of the windscreen they obscure. I wonder what the law says about this sort of thing?
Guest TylerDurdenK Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Will do. Not sure about the law.
Guest carl rose Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 I would like to know how it fits when it arrives. I want to buy one for the car and another for the house to have it on the bedside cabinet with a square of fiber. Please let us know how you got on. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance I'm going to get one of these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT but appreciate that you can't use it in the front....
Guest Sanddancer75 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Will do. Not sure about the law. Thanks. I saw some on eBay a couple of weeks ago that hung onto your vents. I wasn't sure about hanging that kind of weight from them or if the viewing angle would be any good?

Oh, I wouldn't be interested in that one. Bacause of the viewing angles I will need to get something like the first one so I can put a square base of fiber, attach it to that to keep it balanced and like this I can rotate it anywhere I want and for viewing while in bed where the bedside cabinet is higher than the pillow is perfect. Just need to know what sort of build is it and if the vega fits ok. Thanks
Guest TylerDurdenK Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Out of interest, why would you want it in your car? For music, video (when stationary or for passengers), and Sat Nav.
Guest TylerDurdenK Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) It arrived, and seems fairly well made however, I have had it in the car and believe that when the car is moving unless it is braced onto a solid part of the car the "bounce" would be too much to put up with. The next problem is the viewing angle and reflection issues that make using it in the car very difficult. Also in my opinion the unit is too big for use as a sat nav so I'll be sticking to my Tomtom. If you wanted to use it in a stationary car, or on a window or mirror in the house it would work fine, for £5 it will work fine. Guest trevor432990 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Can someone who has got one of these cradles with one suction cup tell me what the diameter of the cup is please? I'm thinking of buying another accessory which fits into a car cup holder and provides a secure flat surface for the suction cup to stick to but it can take a cup a maximum of 90mm diameter. Hence the question.

Guest carl rose Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) Thanks Carl I may take a flyer then and get them both I'll let y'all know how I get on :D For a fiver you can't go wrong. It's a strong cradle and has lots of adjustments so it can quickly eliminate the viewing angles. Specially when you are laying in bed and the bed side cabinet is higher than the pillow. :D Edited February 14, 2011 by carl rose
Guest trevor432990 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Well I got the cradle and the cup holder and must say they both work well though the suction cup would not stick to the cup holder until I snipped off the little rubber tag on the suction cup (normally used when you want to remove the cradle) then it fitted nicely. My only issue is where the cup holder is won't give me sufficient room as the driver to manoeuvre without bashing the screen but would be ideal for placement in the rear seat divider. C'est la vie For anyone with a cup holder in the right place I think it offers a good alternative to a screen or vent mounted cradle but you need to measure things up first.
