Guest colintivendale Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Performing hard reset on updated Swiss phone. Got red green blue bars saying "Canary MV v0.93" and "serial" at bottom. What next? Get message before hand saying something about "bootloader" or another option. Help!
Guest Bazz Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Please read other posts on hard resets. This screen basically means you've missed the main screen. Start again at the beginning.
Guest colintivendale Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 I am a total newbie mate and can't make head nor tail of it. I did read other strings and still struggling! I think it might be done but not sure
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Have a look here this is the easiest post to follow. Have fun Ashley PS as it's had the update try keeping your SD card in when you try the reset.
Guest Bazz Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Then post in the beginners section. I post nicer replies there ;-) Try this (read from the 2nd post onwards): http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...r=asc&start=225 This whole thread is worth reading. Give me a shout if you're still stuck, Barry
Guest meaks Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Sounds to me that your didnt hold down for 2 secs and therefore you missed the opportunity to do the hard reset. I would say try it again but only do it if you know what you are doing - you can mess up your phone.
Guest colintivendale Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Bazz: Sorry. Normally do post newbie but was in a panic. Meaks: What do you mean by mess up my phone? How do I know its done? I think it might be as it shuts off then restarts.
Guest meaks Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 well I've heard that some people have had problems with their phone after a hard reset such as it getting stuck on the orange start up screen. I think this is a very rare case though. You will know if the hard reset has worked because it will say PASSED at the bottom of the screen.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Err no, when you erase the IPSM it says passed, that does not mean you will not get stuck on the sunset screen after.
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 well I've heard that some people have had problems with their phone after a hard reset such as it getting stuck on the orange start up screen. I think it's more a question that people panic a bit; sometimes mine's stayed on the Orange-sunrise(set?) screen for a good few minutes after a hard reset - seems to vary. I've not had a hard reset fail yet (and there's been loads of them, believe me :) ) Edit: Just read a post where the phone stuck on the Sunrise screen overnight. Hmm.
Guest yzbob Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 v.93 at the canary screen is the same version i got on my replacement phone. (previous was .91) and i had some difficulty trying to get into the boot loader screen it was much more difficult than on my .91 version. it is just a case of persevering with the power, record and action buttons the timing of pressing the buttons on the .93 version needs to be much more accurate. i dont even know how to tell u cause i still cant get in sometimes . just a case of trial and error. good luck
