Guest dunfiedoughball Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Hi all , I am running the latest fibblesan rom and everything is great in it except for the email app. When i set the app up as hotmail "exchange" the power drains really quickly from the phone. I tried this on version 6 yesterday and 7a today and the same happened both times. I didn't keep it on the usual "pop3" as i was getting the notification icon/sound even when there was no new emails. Is there a way to get notifications from hotmail without sending it through gmail? or have i set up the app wrong? cheers steve

I'm testing it just now again to see if it is any different.

A little more testing and having email on "push" results in battery % dropping every few minutes. Checking every 30 minutes and it seems fine. Accuweather app seemed to also cause big problems, sorting out both seems to have helped.

Guest dunfiedoughball Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Have you tried the beta version of seven mail, not available in the market but you can get it through http://community.seven.com/main.php Its the only email program I've found that works well with Hotmail. I think I read somewhere during setup that it sends an sms during installation. ZTE Blade is not listed on the website but if you choose one of the Android phones (I think I chose one of the HTC ones and Android is listed there) it works. Hope this helps Thanks,i will check it out ;)
