Remove Orange logo from battery cover

Have no idea if anyone will be interested in this, but I couldn't find any information on this anywhere, maybe I missed it? but the orange 'hardware?' branding bugged the hell out of me, I'm on t-mobile, my sf hasn't even seen an orange sim card!

I'm no developer so I am grateful to all of those here who make the custom roms to remove the orange 'extras',

but no amount of flashing new roms could remove that orange logo from the back of my phone! (duh!)

So tonight out of shear boredom I decided to give it ago, using a very! sharp curved knife I scrapped away the logo, My phone is orange free! what surprised me was how easily the logo came off, a few hairline scratches are visible on close inspection where i first started (bit heavy handed) otherwise for the rest you would never know the logo was there! just nice shiney white plastic ;)

Hope this helps someone!? maybe not!

I have also done this, I achieved better results by using a scouring sponge, the type you get from super markets for washing up with, a square sponge on one side with a light abrasive rear.

A bit of gentle rubbing for about 5-10 mins takes off a tiny bit at a time & left hardly any mark at all.

I also found its best to remove the battery door & place your fingers underside to where you are rubbing, saves any pressure damage to the phone ;)

Probably far more sensible than my knife! I have used a sugar cube on every other phone I have had, but wasn't sure how it would effect the shiny plastic.

Is this also possible with the Blade with the rubbery back?

I've heard nail polish remover dissolves it off very nicely? Not tried it myself though!

Would never have the balls to take a knife to my Blade ;)

Plus its the black one so wouldn't work!

I went for small Android Sticker and Black Resin Case ;)

I can vouch for the sugar solution - I didn't even have some sugar cubes but just used the white sugar grains on the tip of my finger - took me about 10 minutes of rubbing on the white case but it came up looking perfect with zero scratches! you wouldn't even know a sticker was ever there!

Can't understand why a small Orange logo would bother anyone - regardless of which network you're on. Me and my missus have both got a SF, I'm on T-Mobile and she's on O2. Can't say the thought of trying to remove the logo has even entered my head before!

Each to their own I guess.

Well.. Orange is perhaps the WORST network to have a smatphone on. So every time you get out your phone everyone is like "You're on Orange? Ha!"

Never really bothered me much though, but an android sticker is much better :P

And what is your reasoning behind this ridiculous comment?

The issue for me is that I don't want to advertise Orange to anyone.

It's the principal of it. The first thing most of us did with our phones was to remove all the Orange bloatware.

I have an Android sticker to show it's android.
