With the current choice of themes being repeats of the same basic range, hows about something wizzy like this:

Net Front Life Screen

Is this possible or just destined to remain as an app which does not look as good on the Blade as it does in the videos.

You can download it Here

Er this isn't a theme. It's a launcher. Install it then press home, it should pop up with the launcher installed. If not, clear the defaults from your current launcher.

i just downloaded and tried this. It's not too bad, but still lags a bit (not too much that's unuseable).

They have built-in services which i couldn't find a way to remove; FB, Twitter and mixi (whatever that is). Contacts wasn't bringing up all my contacts for some reason. The 'cube' app drawer thingy took about 2 secs to initially load but was fine after first load.

So altogether, not a bad way to get your SF to look different from the crowd, but i think it could still do with improvements. I guess at the end it's one of those eye-candy vs functionality questions.

Don't want to get into a semantics row around these parts but isn't the Launcher element so often a part of the different themes?.

My enquiry concerned a 'look-&-feel' question. ;)

No. The launcher is the (visually) the bottom dock, app drawer, certain widgets etc. "Themes" are framework changes which is top bar and icons, notification area etc.

Launchers are never a part of any of my "themes" hence the bottom dock and icons do not change when you flash my "themes". In the same way using different launchers does not affect the top bar/icons etc. Two totally different elements.

EDIT:

What you have posted is a Launcher/Homescreen replacement. Notice the top bar/icons do not change when he switches launcher. It stays the stock Galaxy style.

We can't pre theme launchers either as only certain layouts can be saved, widgets cannot be saved.

Thanks for the clarification folks, shame that the style can't be integrated in a less laggy option, it not only looks different but the functionality is good for quick selection of the various elements. ;)

Unfortunately as nice as it is to look at, if it doesn't run well it's useless. The launcher is the main part of the usability of a device, it needs to run like butter!
