Guest spakkkk Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 The question its simple ... a can buy a desire or a metal for the same price, what is the best choice? the performances difference are really big? help me please ;)
Guest bais Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 HTC Desire: Bigger community, HTC build quality Liquid Metal: true multitouch, better CPU-GPU, DOlby Mobile I'd say go for the Metal, just for the better Multi touch. But Desire has a BIG community so it depends on what you're going to do with your phone.

Guest HustlinDaily Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Liquid Metal got Vache. Everybody here should know how good he is.
Guest Lens_flare Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 But Desire Supports MIUI ;) And DHD, and CM and more and more and more.. what do you say now, Vache? ;) It's quite good choice. I'm not trust Acer anymore.. But, to be some objective, plusses for acer is: +new generation of qualcomm processor, so great performance boost up to 1.5 ghz and minimal voltage in one +Liquid series design more interesting than desire "googlenexusonebaseddevices" +newer :D chance of official android 2.3 is very high(according Acer traditions) So, decide what you need: community-based device with great history, or newbie with great potetntial features
Guest fear_factory84 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 If you haven't budget problems you could choose a desire hd, that has similar processor to liquid metal, and custom rom support (at least cyanogenmod is supported..). HTC here in italy are too much expensive, so I've chosen to buy a relatively cheaper liquid a1, and I'm happy with it! So, in my opinion it's a matter of money..
Guest habrahabr Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I think that Metal is cheaper o_O Desire is near 550$, Metal is near 400$ Am i wrong?
Guest habrahabr Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 +, i think that Metal is better real multitouch, newer model, design, dolby its all for acer
Guest spakkkk Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 i can buy a desire or a liquid mt for 280€ ... the desire hd its to much expensive, around 440€ ... the liquid mt community will be big? the performance and longevity are better right? regards
Guest Nesli Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Liquid MT : better CPU (eats less power and it is more OC-able), 4 times faster GPU (by datasheet, real. cca 2,5x) for gaming, beautiful design :P
Guest Koki1337 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Wait, isn't Desire the clone of Nexus One in terms of hardware? Liquid is a clone too.
Guest Thmz159 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Hardware of the Liquid Mt seems better but ROM support for Desire is better. Just what you want. I would go for the Liquid Mt because of the true multitouch and better CPU.
Guest ravendagrey Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Liquid MT :P I agree Liquid, is a rising star and the metal is impressive, I love my Liquid E and after buying it and discovering this community I won't look back, I've even went around looking at other phones after I bought it and still am very happy with my choice. For the money IMO it can't be beat, as for the qwerty keyboard I believe the desire offers, the touch on the liquid is amazing doesn't take long to get used to it with no lag and mobile bluetooth keyboards are availible. I'm using the LCR Rom as my daily and it runs playstation emulation, been playing suikoden and final fantasy 7 on my phone how cool is that! As for the Rom's they keep getting better and each build is becoming faster and more stable and more versions keep comming out, the malez recovery makes it very easy for anyone to try out different roms just be sure to do a naindroid backup of your orginal rom and you'll be happy.
Guest jayziac Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 You play playstation emulation on your liquid E? I always found that touch screens for gaming on Liquid (and probably most Android devices) to be lacking, compared to iOS for example. It's just not very precise.
Guest Raskell Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 My wife has HTC Desire and I have just gotten the Liquid Metal. Both are very nice phones and are about the same in the hand. The big plus for me is the HSDPA+ for the Metal making it faster in 3.5G data. The Desire is not quite as fast using only HSDPA but both are very capable. I was considering the Desire HD before going with the Metal, but for me it was more than 2X the cost for the HD. The regular Desire is a little more cost than the Metal but not enough to matter. I kept my Liquid A1 for a year and with the support from this forum and others, kept it right up to date. I am expecting similar life and upgrading for the Metal. The folks over at XDA are great as well supporting the HTC devices but overall, it seems Acer has been a bit more forthcoming supporting older phones with newer ROMs. HTC tends to draw a line in the sand and wants you to buy the next greatest phone.
