Guest Titas Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Just thought I would try & save someone the grief I suffered yesterday trying (& failing!) to remove Wave Secure which is included in MoDaCo r11 ROM. I had installed the ROM & all apps without any trouble when I realised Wave Secure was only a 7 day trial - an internet search suggested it would be $20 p.a. after so I decide to uninstall (OK, call me a Titas!) - but I couldn't. No uninstaller would remove it "for security reasons" - ??? What is the 6 digit PIN for then?!?!. File explorer apps also say "cannot be deleted! Googled solutions which were way more complicated than the ROM install & spent most of the day downloading massive apps/updates & messing around with CMD prompts which I don't fully understand & aren't fully explained anywhere that I could find. In the end I re-downloaded the ROM without the Wave Secure option & re-installed as it was the only way I could get rid of it. So unless you are sure you want W.S. for ever or are very happy mounting adb & running CMD prompts I suggest you avoid it! Btw - ROM runs great now - Tx MoDaCo!!
Guest ThrashMan Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 AFAIK it cannot be uninstalled if it got there by being part of the ROM, not as a "normal" install.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 with adb adb remount adb rm /system/app/name of the apk adb reboot
Guest richardw1992 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I've managed to uninstall it before using a program free in the android market called "Root Uninstaller" ??? I was always puzzled why Titanium wouldnt remove it, but this other uninstaller worked fine for me!

Guest Frankish Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Even titanium backup removes it. You can't delete it normally because its installed to system that's all.
