Guest no-ice Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 i didnt try it on stock, but i have flashed starburst on and i am getting a score lower than when i had my san francisco san fran Desire im quite suprised, am i missing something here? The san fran was running one of the first 2.2 roms made available here on modaco, and the desire is running the starburst 2.2 rom, with no other tweeks.

Guest stex_80 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) if is interesting for you the neocore average score for desire is always around 30/34 fps ( 37 is good ), the score in quadrant depend on rom used, i've seen the maximun score is for data2ext rom, over then 1800. Guest khtse Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 The first generation Snapdragon that the Desire uses has a somewhat dated GPU. 30fps in Neocore seems to be the standard for 1st gen Snapdragon device. Overclocking will get you a few fps more but not much. Data2ext somewhat inflated Quadrant score since it boost I/O score a lot. It's not really inflating it as it does improve I/O performance... but you CPU and GPU score won't go up. If you get the professional version of Quadrant, it breaks down the total score into different part for you to see. Comparing the pre-data2ext and post-data2ext scores you can see that the increase comes solely in I/O score.
Guest no-ice Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 the san francisco and the desire have the same gpu, so that doesnt really make sense for the difference :/
