Remove contacts label "WORK"

Hello, can any one help? I have been using my SF for a few weeks but when finding my contacts and making a call find I it annoying that all my contacts have "call work" and then the number, I had an Nokia before and saved all my contacts as Vcards, but when they have been imported they all have been labeled as Work" numbers for all my contacts, Is there a way of either changing the way cotacts are displayed or is it possible to multi edit all of my contacts, I have 300+ and don't realy want to edit each one

Maybe google contacts will help? In the PC browser i mean.

You could use your google webmail account to export them and then edit the csv file with excel or similar.

Once you have the contacts how you want them then wipe them from the google account and import the csv.
