Guest pneumatix Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I bought this nice ZTE Blade via E-Bay. The first one suffered from some serious screen flickering, so I sent it back. Just received a replacement phone yesterday, and installed a 2.2 ROM soon after delivery, only to find out that the touch screen became totally unresponsive! I switched between different 2.2 ROMs, but no one allowed me to use the touch screen. I ended up installing the stock rom, but again, no touch screen capabilities. After removing the battery and rebooting this way a couple of times the screen sometimes works, but mostly it doesn't. When the screen does work, however, there seems to be no problems with the phone whatsoever. The touch screen works perfectly, even after the phone went to sleep. Stupid me, I didn't create a recovery image. The stock ROM that I downloaded seems to be different than the one that was originally installed. Now I'm wondering: could this be a software issue and is there a way to fix this? I would like to try the OUK_P729BV1.0.0B10 ROM (stock roms), but I can't get it, due to a DDos attack. Would it also help if I update Clockworkmod Recovery to version 3.0.0.5 instead of 2.5.1.8? Or is it maybe possible to remove the Clockworkmod and get the phone back like how it was when I received it? I should have played more with it before installing a new ROM, I know :-( Any help is appreciated!
Guest HitTheCow Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 there's no help. flash the original rom via clockworkmod and then flash the original recovery.img to the recovery partition --> send it back! my SF and several other SFs from users here suffered the same problem. after a while the screen won't recognize your input at all... :P
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 seems to be a hardware issue you have to flash a 2.1 rom i think with the TPT method to see if it's software or hardware issue no another version of clockwork doesn't help
Guest pneumatix Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Thanks. I was already afraid for this. I guess that I'll have to send it back again :P It is almost for sure that this couldn't happen because of the custom ROMs I installed, right?
