Guest Manneman Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Hi guys! I bought an unbranded ZTE Blade yesterday... I´m a little confused however. My Blade has got the 5MP camera instead of the 3.2 I see everywhere. This has not been released in Sweden yet and that´s cool... However... If I want to upgrade to a different ROM is this possible with this newer Blade? Is there a difference in the ROMs between the models? Best regards // Manneman

Model, firmware, baseband and Kernel. However... If I want to upgrade to a different ROM is this possible with this newer Blade? Is there a difference in the ROMs between the models? Best regards // Manneman All the newer ROMs support both 3.2MP and 5MP cameras so don't worry about that. The more interesting thing would be to see if the phone you have has a firmware we don't yet have a copy of. This is not very likely but we should check first before you flash a new ROM.

Model ZTE-BLADE Firmware 2.1-Update 1 Baseband EFIN_P729BB01 Kernel 2.6.29 (zte-kernel@Zdroid-SMT I have read on several locations that the camera will get messed up if I fiddle with the ROM. I´m glad to hear that newer ROMs aren´t any issue. // Manneman

Guest Manneman Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Your phone is Finnish Saunalahti version. Oh my god... I have been jailbreaking iPhones and modding Windows Mobilephones for ages... and I feel like such a noob on this. Can I have some directions to some working ROM´s and perhaps a working way to root the Blade? // Manneman

I´m rooted... always something... right? :P Now I just have to figure out the rest. On the iPhone I use iPhone Explorer to browse the files when the phone is connected to my PC. Is there a similar program for Android? // Manneman Edited February 7, 2011 by Manneman

For that you'd need Root Explorer or something similar (Im assuming you only want to access the SD files)
Guest Manneman Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Well... I got a little help and I have now installed Japanese Jellyfish RLS9 and the HD UI... works great! And just by beeing careful it was really easy. Thanx for giving me the kick in the behind that I needed to get going. // Manneman, Sweden
