Squeaky buttons!

Anyone else suffering from buttons which squeak rather than click? Mine only needs the slightest touch, not enough for the phone to register it, but enough for my ears to register it. It makes the phone feel/sound so cheap!

Any ideas on a fix?

I tried to get my handset apart to have a look, but I took the screws off, and could only prize the volume side of the handset open, the other side wouldn't budge. :s

I have a squeak but from what I can see it is coming from the back cover (Bottom Corner) :P

My home button does the same. It's worse if you press the far left corner, or if you slide your thumb left as you press. It's like the plastic button moves from side to side and scrapes against the housing.

If I press down right above the home icon it makes no sound.

The phone is cheap what do you expect?

I've had £5 handsets that manage to have working buttons. :P

My second handset had that issue, poor fitting on the back cover. Get a replacement from your stockist.

No squeak on any of my buttons and a perfect fitting back cover, guess I'm lucky. :P

I read somewhere here that tightening the screws on the back helps.

Tried that, no dice.

New handset coming tomorrow. Number 4...

This one will be a TFT though, they told me they're sending a NEW handset, rather than another refurb.

Will dump my FW incase anything new's going on in there nowadays.
