Guest Xenon0816 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Hey, I have a quick question... I watched today. Skip to 1:15 to see what I mean with the topic title. My question is now: How to get the text input like that? Is it the keyboard or is it something else? Cause when I long press the text field it wont zoom in and there is no such popup, just the normal menu... Any ideas?
Guest That-Guy Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Not sure, maybe worth trying that keyboard from the market :P Also maybe this app will work but not sure: http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applica...-tool_imlq.html Good Luck!
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 i think you can do it with smart keyboard pro nothing to loose to try it there is a trial version :P

My question is now: How to get the text input like that? Is it the keyboard or is it something else? That video couldnt be played from android...
Guest Xenon0816 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 ... :P Sorry :D But now I checked them... Text Zoom Tool is just something to zoom up a predefined text... so you type your text into the app and it zooms it up... I think it's meant for asian people, as there might be some signs, that are too small to be readable. They can copy and paste their texts and the app will zoom the text, so that they can read it... In SmartKeyboard I couldn't find such a feature... Sad, but I will go on searching  For the video: I think he uses gingerbread in the video and gb comes with this feature (I read something about this earlier)... Anyways thanks for your replies!
Guest jurrasstoil Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 hmm, i just use the volume rockers to move the cursor if i did miss the spot with the first or second try.
Guest That-Guy Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 hmm, i just use the volume rockers to move the cursor if i did miss the spot with the first or second try. I didn't know you could do this so thank you :P
Guest Lew247 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 It only works on some keyboards though unfortunately
Guest oh!dougal Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 hmm, i just use the volume rockers to move the cursor if i did miss the spot with the first or second try. It only works on some keyboards though unfortunately But do note that 0x90's 'mod' for JJ9 and FLB can add this functionality to ALL keyboards ...
Guest Lew247 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 but not all roms? I'm using at the moment flb-r8a and from what I've seen it won't work for that yet
Guest mrzl Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 but not all roms? I'm using at the moment flb-r8a and from what I've seen it won't work for that yet Yesterday's final release does work. Note that Fibblesan made an optimised version. The download link is in the OP above the screen shots (updated and untested versions.)
Guest Xenon0816 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) the thing with the volume rocker sounds really interesting and like a good Idea... I'm gonna test the 0x90 mod just because of this feature. Thanks for all the replies guys! €: hmm, i just use the volume rockers to move the cursor if i did miss the spot with the first or second try. Do you use it w/o the 0x90 mod? If so, which kb are you using? Edited February 13, 2011 by Xenon0816
Guest Rotmann Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 HTC_IME has this in the options, always use it.

The download link is in the OP above the screen shots (updated and untested versions.) Yep tried it all day today and it works perfectly, apart from it crashes all the widgets when you reboot the phone back to the drawing board! I know HTC_IME has this in the options, but I wanted it for other keyboards, ie gingerbread mainly
Guest Xenon0816 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 I tested the 0x90 mod now and it's really good, except for two bugs I experienced so far... I wrote them to the 0x90 thread: Thanks for this really great mod! I'm on JJ9 with a gingerbread theme by frankish, installed the mod without wiping, and everything is working fine so far! I love the option to use the volume rocker as a dpad lef/right in text input! BUT there are two problems I experienced so far: The lockscreen won't go into silent mode anymore, but always goes into vibrate (although I set vibrate to except silent mode in settings) The haptic feedback on the hardkeys stopped working for me... On the themed JJ9 it worked fine for me, just stopped with this mod! I will install the mod again with wiping in between and will report back if it worked better. Without those bugs the mod would be really good!

I use the HTC_IME keyboard.
Guest Xenon0816 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 still on JJ rls6, so no 0x90 mod. I use the HTC_IME keyboard. Ok thanks... I tested the HTC_IME kb and somehow I didn't like it... I'm happy now, that the 0x90 mod has a fix for this problem!
