how to unpack boot image(boot.img) ?

Hi every senior experts,

I want to unpack the boot.img for custom boot image.

I refere to following wiki.

Also I try to write a unpack programe based on mkbootimg source code.

But it sames can't extract kernel.img ,ramdisk.img .

Does Desire HD use newer boot image format ?

would you please give some ideas?
