Guest Spectre51 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Only issue I am having with Streakdroid 1.7 is the stock browser will crash when I hit menu ->exit. Here is the log file for errors generated when I close the browser after it was already open and working fine: 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: forceStopPackage() from pid=1749, uid=10014 requires android.permission.FORCE_STOP_PACKAGES 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:1247) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:1235) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.app.ActivityManagerProxy.forceStopPackage(ActivityManagerNative.java:2564) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.app.ActivityManager.forceStopPackage(ActivityManager.java:968) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.browser.BrowserActivity.onOptionsItemSelected(BrowserActivity.java:1499) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.app.Activity.onMenuItemSelected(Activity.java:2195) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow.onMenuItemSelected(PhoneWindow.java:782) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.internal.view.menu.MenuItemImpl.invoke(MenuItemImpl.java:143) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.internal.view.menu.MenuBuilder.performItemAction(MenuBuilder.java:866) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.internal.view.menu.IconMenuView.invokeItem(IconMenuView.java:532) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.internal.view.menu.IconMenuItemView.performClick(IconMenuItemView.java:122) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.view.View$PerformClick.run(View.java:8816) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.os.Handler.handleCallback(Handler.java:587) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:92) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4627) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:858) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:616) 02-08 00:48:04.463: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1749): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Any ideas how I can fix that without having to try a second factory reset? When I first start the stock browser I did notice this error popping up: 02-08 00:46:22.993: ERROR/ApplicationContext(290): Couldn't create directory for SharedPreferences file /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/shared_prefs/CheckinService.xml 02-08 00:46:23.183: ERROR/ApplicationContext(290): Couldn't create directory for SharedPreferences file /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/shared_prefs/CheckinService.xml Tried running a permissions fix from stockmod recovery but nothing changed.

Guest Spectre51 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Im getting the same error too but i notice if i use the back softkey it exits with no fc. You are not really closing the browser that way. Yes fards I am using perfmod.
Guest fards Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) Thought so, its usually a symptom, its not able to write to the sql-database properly using perfmod, which is why people get the browser and market errors, I don't know why it doesn't cope, but the sqllite seems to really struggle Edited February 9, 2011 by fards
Guest V.stArZerO Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I had the same problem when I first flashed from 1.6.1 downgraded to stock 2.2 then 1.7 with perfmod. After I realized the stock browser will fc each time I pressed close button, I reflashed 1.7 with the same install.txt (of course with perfmod) and this treats the fc issue. I now can close the stock browser normally without having fc message.
Guest Johnny82 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I dont have perfmod installed and I am getting the same error. Will reinstall tomorroe.
Guest Duskycub Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 no perfmod on mine and i dont use any install txt but us240 and bios and tabmail
Guest fards Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 If you say youre not on perfmod then you need to put the logs on pastebin so we can see whats happening.
