Guest KevinMercia Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Hi Brand new to the whole smartphone / android scene, so forgive my noob-ness :-) I have a stock OSF that I have unlocked and have attempted to root before going on to install a new ROM, however after I use Unversal Androot 1.6.1 [recommended in guide](which appears to work correctly and reports phone as rooted - I have done it twice as some people recommend), obtained Superuser and installed Titanium*root & Adfree - no problems so far - but having halted at this stage and turned the phone off, I found that upon re-starting that I needed to go through the whole Universal Androot thing again before the above apps had the permissions necessary to continue. Is this the correct behaviour or should the rooting process be a one time event? Stock OSF running 2.1 -update1 Baseband P729BB01 Kernel 2.6.29 Thanks in advance, Kevin Edited February 8, 2011 by KevinMercia
