Guest TylerDurdenK Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 I am looking into the possiblility of charging the Vega from a USB socket when traveling. It appears the Vega shares the same tip dimenions as the PSP for it's power input. I believe the PSP chargers output 5V 1A and I am hoping that is sufficient to charge the Vega (which charger outputs 12V 1A) Thanks in advance.
Guest warriorscot Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Won't work, wrong size the vega port is noticeably larger and 5V isn't going to work. PSPs and the other sony products that use the same charger are designed for USB charging they take USB power input the Vega won't. At best it will do nothing at worst it will damage the Vega or the charger. Just get a multiadapter from maplin there is at least one that works.

Over the years I've ended up with various car charging adapters for numerous devices - all of which have ended up in a box (awaiting labelling to avoid confusion as not all manufacturers put their names on the adapters). I've also got a 12v inverter (which turns 12v into 220/230v) and I'm beginning to think that this is actually a simpler option as all of the devies I want to charge already have the right 'ends'. £20 well spent I think in hindsight.....
