Guest Simon O Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Paul tweeted about this app and it looks pretty useful https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tools.power "You can view programs that are running for their power consumption Kill or uninstall the high power program can extend the standby time" Could be useful for people concerned about battery usage.
Guest Rotmann Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 PowerTutor does the same but eats a little battery itself because it makes an history, graphs etc.
Guest That-Guy Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Thanks for the heads up going to give it a try :P Would be good for people to post results up too, may help us get better battery performance somewhere down the line!

Guys, What is seen as high battery use? Most of the things on my phone use less than 1% but launcher pro and beaufiful widgets use just under 5% each. At what % is an app seen as using too much? cheers

Would the Froyo stock launcher use less?
Guest Cyburner Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 For me the most draining things are: Analogue Clock: 5.88% Launcher Pro: 3.08% Phone: 2.04%
Guest ezablade Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Presume the figures are the percentage of the amount of battery used since last recharge? ie 5% is 5% of the amount used (if 90% battery left, 5% of 10%) If so, a high percentage when little battery has been used is to be expected if you've been using an app, but, if your battery is at 10% and an app is showing as using 80%, then it's time to worry.
