Guest JohnPettigrew Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 I've got my SD card into a mess (swapped to new card and my Mac clearly didn't move all hidden files), which means that although my data's all fine, the apps I'd moved to the card are now inaccessible. (I'm running Android 2.2 on my San Francisco, which I believe makes a big difference to how this all works behind the scenes.) My old 2GB card (the one that came with the phone) seems to have broken irreparably - it won't mount on the phone or on either of two computers (Windows and Linux) - so I can't revert to that card and move the apps back to the phone. What I'm wondering is whether reinstalling the missing apps will give me two copies of the files or cause other wierdness. Thanks.
Guest Rotmann Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 You won't get them doubled, i would try to repair the sdcard, look for toops on the internet.
Guest ztedd Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 you can find the answer here: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-for-your-apps/ normal app2sd is stored on /sdcard/.android-secure. it will only be visible when mounting the sd to your pc, e.g. connecting your phone by usb. on android, the dir is mounted to /mnt/asec. insert your old sd card again and copy the files from there. or usr Titanium backup. then enter new SD card, copy files back to . android-secure or use titanium to restore.

That's great, thanks. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, the old card is damaged (won't mount) so I resorted in the end to just reinstalling the affected apps. I'll bear this in mind for any future time I need to swap cards!
