Guest zzleezz Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Will try to get a list together here of what people would like to see in future versions of MCR for the Vega. Please try to keep the thread clean, if you have something to discuss about a particular issue I am sure there is already a thread about that somewhere else, clutter in here will kill this list. So for me I would like to see: Legacy Apps2SD Sorted in r8, woohoo! NTFS support Built in fix for accelerometer in games USB Host/Slave switch WITHOUT reboot (drool) Wifi staying on in standby mode (also drool) Prettier notification bar option in MCR kitchen Jet Car Stunts to work! :P Im told it works with paid app Vnc server support AAC+ streaming (good call Debs) Reliable battery gauge (mine seems fine) MKV support (I have good video but no sound) USB mouse fix (broken since r7) Volume control fix (stops at 50%) Better codec support in general with hardware acceleration, including AC3 decoding (downscaled to MP3 realtime) to save having to re-encode videos for the Vega Keyboard tuning for touch input. (Key repeat delay to stop the last of the double spaces, credit to touch graphite in another thread) Not exactly relevant to this but would be highly useful the FAQ thread to be made sticky sticky me please!!!!!! Add yours and I will update the list Edited February 9, 2011 by zzleezz
Guest godinandroid Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Vnc server that works with the desire hd as client.
Guest ravemaster8210 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Reliable battery gauge. -Mike
Guest remlap Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 USB Mouse Support back in the kernel.
Guest zzleezz Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Thanks for your input. Post updated.
Guest debs626 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 +1 For USB Mouse support I didn't know that this wasn't working until remlap mentioned it :P ..... I wouldn't have installed r7 if I had known
Guest Sir Gash Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I agree with everything on the list so far, good suggestions! Here are some others: - Better codec support in general with hardware acceleration, including AC3 decoding (downscaled to MP3 in realtime) to save having to re-encode videos for the Vega - Fix for the volume control bug (increasing volume beyond 50% has no effect at all) Jet Car Stunts to work! :P Apparently it does now, the free version hasn't been updated yet but the paid one has with Tegra support AAC+ Streaming ! I noticed in the XiiaLive forums they asked you to send a logcat, did you manage to send this to them?
Guest BiggerH Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 MKV support. same here - re-encoding with Handbrake is sooooooooo slow with my PC
Guest zzleezz Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Thanks sir gash (is that a full knighthood, should I be bowing ;-) ) post updated.

Thanks for pointing my attention to that Sir Gash ... totally missed their reply .... Have sent them a log so hopefully they may be able to find us a fix :P
Guest zzleezz Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Post updated with r8 Link2SD addition, nice work Mr Paul :P
Guest HunteronX Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Post updated with r8 Link2SD addition, nice work Mr Paul :P Indeed it is. Anyway, thanks for creating this wishlist thread. I think that all of these things will realy improve our Vegas. One thing I'd like to be implemented if possible is: A screen render effect - something like what's in CM6 and greater, which can change the colour of your screen, and may allow us to improve the look of colours on the Vega's screen. Guest tdroza Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Replace the ugly notification bar with a pretty Gingerbread themed one (like in the MCR Blade ROM). Paul already mentioned this in the Vega ROM thread so it's on his radar but we would need some (fairly simple) icons creating as the standard notification bar doesn't include icons for home/back/menu.

My screen seems to have perfect colours to my amateur eye, are you talking about the render effect that changes the screen to all one colour to save battery power? Have that on my Desire and dont find it very useful personally. Ill add it to the list with a proviso though :P Replace the ugly notification bar with a pretty Gingerbread themed one (like in the MCR Blade ROM). Yes, this I like the idea of. In fact I liked it so much it was already on my list! :D Edited February 10, 2011 by zzleezz
Guest obb Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Honeycomb .... That will do for starters!
Guest zzleezz Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 WMV Streaming Think that will come under "Better codec support" :P Also now I have cifs support I can stream most formats, not tried WMV yet, will give it a shot later.

In fact I liked it so much it was already on my list! :D It's just that when I look at my desktop computer monitor, the colours are much more 'vivid', if you know what I mean. The default CM6 presets aren't very good in this case, but if someone could implement contrast, brightness etc. settings, like on a tv or monitor, I think it would help.
Guest rvdgeer Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 One more: Option to boot to recovery without the app (using a key combination on bootup)...
