Changing user agent string with EAS and Email possible?

Our IT department is taking it neanderthal pills and appears to be attempting to lock down our exchange server to Crackberries, they killed the IOS devices already and I think they may figure out a few of us use Droids. I am wondering if there is a way to change what I believe is the user agent string the device sends to the EAS active sync server to make it think its either a crackberry or a desktop???? I know how to change the User Agent string for the browser, but dont know how to for K-9 or any other mail client. Thanks
