Most of the dev's (not that there are too many on the vega) feel its best to wait for 3.0 to his AOSP in order to build a proper rom rather than attempt a "dirty port" from the SDK and be left with lots of bugs and lots of features not working. We will get some sort of 3.0 build running in the future so don't worry, just wait for it to be officially released first.

It will not run on Tegra in it's current form.
Guest rferrett Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I thought the quallcomm and tegra chips were both bbased on arm cortex cores?
Guest electric0ant Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 The Motorola xoom has a 1Ghz dual core Tegra 2 proccessor as well, isn't this the same as what the advent has? and the xoom is running honeycomb. I really do hope honeycomb does get ported to the vega, since honeycomb has no requirement for a physical home button, which is exactly what is limiting the vega's multifunctioning capabilities at the moment.
Guest warriorscot Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 There is often slight variations in ARM frameworks used on the chips more so than is usuall between x86 chips which is why there is compatibility issue sometimes and what will work on one ARM cpu won't work on another. But they are much better than they used to be in that respect. It should run, the XOOM has more memory but its not enough that its going to make a huge difference. I can't see why it won't be possible to move it over onto a vega the slight hardware changes shouldn't be insurmountable issues for the modding community or manufacturers. It may be be as easy as some people think which is what might be what is trying to be said but since when is it ever easy.
Guest Accommodation Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Can I be the first to offer a £20 Paypal donation to the person who makes a working Honeycomb ROM for the Vega?
Guest SilentMobius Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) This is all based on the sdk emulator image which is based on a generic arm emulator so it would be pretty easy to get runing on the Vega. But... It would be running on the CPU with almost no acceleration, hence pretty Best wait for honeycomb to drop in AOSP. Edited February 16, 2011 by SilentMobius
