Guest TylerDurdenK Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I am running R7 and I am suffering random Launcher Pro force closes. Anything I can do to prevent these?
Guest Dentist Jed Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I'm getting this too. Mainly happens on tablet wake when it does.
Guest Sir Gash Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I am running R7 and I am suffering random Launcher Pro force closes. Anything I can do to prevent these? I have been using LauncherPro on my Vega for a couple of months now, don't think I have ever had an FC with it. Maybe you should try tweaking some settings: Menu > Preferences > Advanced Settings > Memory Usage Settings > Memory usage preset > High There is also a 'Prevent force-closes' option here but I have never had to enable it.

As far as I remember I haven't tweaked anything and it works fine (I use LP+) - perhaps remove all widgets and run for a while and see what happens - then reintroduce the widgets one by one - in case one is causing issues?
Guest surly cat Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 The best fix would be to use ADW Launcher.
Guest warriorscot Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Had a few problems with the last few pre releases but nothing since the final r7 or the r8. Maybe try reinstalling and loading a backup. The best fix would be to use ADW Launcher. Not really a solution as having tried both LauncherPro is the better of the two on the vega.
Guest surly cat Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Not really a solution as having tried both LauncherPro is the better of the two on the vega. In your opinion. I've tried both myself and the differences are slight, but the main one is that LauncherPro is less customizable than ADW Launcher. LauncherPro is also missing two of ADW's most useful home-screen features: the ability to switch between the dockbar and up to six customizable (small icon) shortcuts, and being able to long-press a shortcut to bring up its menu (Remove, Edit or Uninstall. In edit, you can change the icon, its action, and even its name). Having switched from LauncherPro Plus to free ADW Launcher (not the better EX version), I've noticed a few other good differences: themes, desktop lock (useful), app drawer transparency; and the fact that it's open source.
