Guest Poodha Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 I have a couple of empty folders on my SD-card that I have no idea of what they are doing, and I guess some are leftovers from deleted apps(like the mapdroyd-folder). Is it safe to delete these? .android_secure .dataviz acv LOST.DIR z7logs(this one isn't empty, but I have no idea of what this folders does, and it's been around since I first got the phone and think it was empty then)
Guest IronDoc Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) .android_secure is for froyo App2SD LOST.DIR is a linux thing, don't think it should be deleted Edited February 10, 2011 by IronDoc
Guest targetbsp Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 .android_secure only appears empty but it isn't. If you look at it on a computer rather than your phone you will see that it's where your apps that are installed onto the sd card are kept. I dunno what lost.dir is but its part of android and if you delete it then it just gets remade. z7logs is also part of android - i've never tried deleting it. The other 2 are not part of android and presumably belong to some app you have installed. If you no longer have whatever apps made them (ie apps with similar names) you should be fine to delete them.
Guest Poodha Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Thanks for clearing that up, guys. Good to know what some of the folders are for. Cheers.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 lost.dir is when you transfer files and something went wrong lost files are here
