Guest pompeyboyz Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 I have just got the official BBC iPlayer app but it is only available to work over wifi. If I want to do that I may as well use the web iPlayer on my PC or use the browser version. Is there an app that can fool my streak into thinking that it is on wifi when it is only on 3G? There is one for jailbroken iPhones that I used to have in my dark days :P called MyFi(I think)

There is one for jailbroken iPhones that I used to have in my dark days :P called MyFi(I think) It was called 3G unlocker for the iPhone, I used it for some games and stuff like Youtube. Seemed silly to have a big data plan and view youtube in compressed format lol. MyWi is for using your phone as a mobile hotspot, providing internet to other devices using its 3G connection. I haven't heard of anything like 3G unlocker for Android because its normally not really needed. Now you've got me curious though in case it ever comes up in the future, ill let you know if I find anything.
Guest Tim6772 Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) My-3G (intelliborn) 3G-unrestrictor (R. Peitrich???) Both allowed the inbuilt restrictions to be bypassed by fooling iOS into thinking a 3G connection was in fact a slow wifi. Have you tried typing 'about:debug' (without the ' ' ) into your browser then in settings scrolling down to EAstring at the bottom and setting to desktop?? dunno if that'll work but always worth a try edit.....add mywi to above, all did essentially same job. Guest pompeyboyz Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Looks like BBC have product an area of interest to look at then. I hope someone with coding knowledge and ability is able to create something like mywi (that's what I had) Thanks for your input guys :P
