Please help! Think I may have bricked my phone :(

I followed this guide to install the rom r8_update_de-orangeated_blade_signed onto my phone:

I then wanted to install the latest jj onto my phone (Japanese_Jellyfish_RLS9) so I thought I could basically use the same final process to swap the roms (which was that I installed RecoveryManager_v0.23b.apk and then chose the Japanese_Jellyfish_RLS9.zip file when I selected the Install Firmware option, I didnt do any of the preceeding steps as I thought that the phone was already rooted (I had superuser in my menu) and that I wouldn't need to install the clockwork recovery again).

So basically the phone rebooted, got to the install screen and seemed to be installing fine, got past the green android logo and now it is stuck on the android text bit. The text shines three times then the screen turns off for a second and repeats this process. It's been like this for 20 minutes now so I assume something has gone wrong. I can't switch off the phone and no other buttons work.

What should I do? I think the only thing I can try is to remove the battery and reboot but I figured I better ask before I try anything.

can you boot into recovery? hold Vol Down while pressing power.

That's a relief. Yeah, I've booted into recovery. What should I do from here to get JJ installed? Should I select install zip from sdcard and do it through that method? Or do a wipe data/factory reset?

If you didn't wipe data between the last ROM and the new one, you should! Do that now and try a reboot..

Try wiping dalvik cache the install ur rom zip or do a full wipe then instal the rom.

a complete wipe ie. cache and data/factory reset should do the job if JJ was installed correctly.

Excellent, that worked a treat. Cheers guys, this was probably something really basic but I'm a bit of a noob on all this.
