Guest Wolves4Ever Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Hi folks, I'm off to New Zealand for a month and have decided to get a pay-as-you-go (or prepay as they call it) Vodafone sim for 15 quid. What I'd like to know, is will the 2.2 Rom I've got (Sebs) automatically be able to set the APN settings or will I have to enter them in manually. You can guess the next question, anyone know what they would be??? Cheers.
Guest meesham Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 The Vodafone NZ APN settings are as follows: Name Vodafone NZ apn www.vodafone.net.nz Proxy - port - username - password - server - mmsc null mms proxy - mms port - mcc - 530 mnc - apn type - default (type this in) Name vodafone NZ-MMS apn live.vodafone.com proxy - port - username - password - server - mmsc http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend mms proxy 172.30.38.3 mms port 8080 mcc 530 mnc 01 apn type mms (type this in in lower case) Source - Geekzone thread

I'm in Australia and I couldnt get 3g to work at all. My network seemed to hae the same problem as those on T-Mobile. NZ may be different though and you might be ok. Just a heads up I was orig on the de-softened ROM but de-crossed now works ok

Might be cheaper to get a 2degrees sim I brought a blade back from a holiday in the UK and running JJR9 with a vodafone nz sim - APNs worked straight away - I think JJR9 has the CyanogenMod APN list.

I'm in NZ, got my sister to bring me back an SF when she came back from the UK at Christmas, and have it running on the 2degrees network here. Definitely get a 2degrees sim - heaps cheaper than Vodafone and works everywhere that Vodafone does, and more (they have their own network but also an agreement when Vodafone to "roam" on the Vodafone network in areas theirs doesn't reach). I can also confirm the SF works fine on 2degrees here - uses the same freqs as Vodafone anyway. Oh, and just 9c txt and 44c/min calls to the UK - Vodafone would charge you more than twice that. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Also, I've never had to manually input my APN settings - I'm on MCR Rel 12 at present but had FLB-Froyo Rel 8a before that.

Running the ModAco 2.2 R12 ROM its just found all on Vodafones network here, no manual intervention needed. Any snags when you get here sing out.
