Guest marcsafc Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) Just got my blade delivered today. Out of the box followed the unlock instructions.. network unlock successful shows and assumed that was it. Cant get a signal on any simcard tho, virgin, o2, vodafone all saying 'no service'. pop the orange sim that was in the box into the phone tho and it connects to the network straight away. presume i've done it wrong by trying to unlock it straight away rather than putting the Orange sim in first? Any ideas as to how i can fix this? sorry if this has already been posted but been reading around on here for the last few hours and tried searching and still no joy. any help would be appreciated. cheers. Guest That-Guy Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Have you tried manually searching for a network in the Settings, then clicking on the correct one?
Guest marcsafc Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Have you tried manually searching for a network in the Settings, then clicking on the correct one? tried changing the APN settings to the network i want as per the instruction in the unlock thread. i'd never tried that before as i thought it was for data, not to just actually connect to the network. it works for about 10 seconds or so, im trying to use my VirginMobile sim and it shows TMobile as connected then when i go back to the home screen is just disconnects again with the no service message. it does this everytime, as if i go back into the settings and rekey the port number for example it'll connect for that 30 seconds or so but by the time i come out of the menu and go to home screen it cuts out again. now having the same problem with the Orange sim aswell with the disconnection all the time. think i must have changed a setting or something and not realised. going to try factory reset and see if i can get any joy.
Guest marcsafc Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 im just now assuming the phone is faulty as now looking at it was only getting 0-1 bars when the orange sim was working
Guest marcsafc Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) after hours of trying it's going back turned out it was no problem with the unlock its just a horrendous reception for whatever reason. flicks between no service and 0/1 bars all the time when my other phones all have full signals in the same area. from searching the forums seems other people have the same problem aswell. setting the phone to 2g only makes no difference either. oh well Edited February 12, 2011 by marcsafc
