if you read it more, the roadmap includes porting it back to android......

but this is not a serious topic just yet.... Im interested to see what comes of this, with the lawsuit and all....

Interesting project. I had the idea of doing something like that a while ago. But time is always the main issue.. If they get sources up it would be fun to get involved and contribute to it.

A team already managed something like that (the basic idea, running Android apps on other OS'), by creating a dalvik VM what could run on most of the devices. No further info, I can't recall the project, but they had a nice video showing off Android apps on a Nokia N900 with the basic Maemo OS on it.
