Guest Sebastian404 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Someone is bound to start this thread.... so I thought I'd beat them to it.. http://www.jroller.com/neugens/entry/introducing_icedrobot Who wants to port this then :P
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 It may requite it being finished first. Or, indeed, for the logo to be not so appalling. Look at it, what is it, a ToothDroid?
Guest ThrashMan Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Quote from article: "IcedRobot is an attempt to bring the Android API on Linux Desktop." Does that not mean it's for our PCs and not our 'phone?

Im interested to see what comes of this, with the lawsuit and all....
Guest 0x90 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 Interesting project. I had the idea of doing something like that a while ago. But time is always the main issue.. If they get sources up it would be fun to get involved and contribute to it.
Guest That-Guy Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 Interesting idea will be keeping an eye on this :P
Guest fonix232 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 A team already managed something like that (the basic idea, running Android apps on other OS'), by creating a dalvik VM what could run on most of the devices. No further info, I can't recall the project, but they had a nice video showing off Android apps on a Nokia N900 with the basic Maemo OS on it.
Guest Rotmann Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Do you mean the Alien Dalvik? :P
