I broke it... starting fastboot usb download protocol

hi, have searched and found other posts related to this. however i'm getting nowhere fast and starting to worry that i've knackered my vega.

how i broke it;

thought i'd see if a microsoft wireless mouse would work. used the usbswitcher app, chose host, it rebooted... but didn't come back up.

"starting fastboot usb download protocol" appears on a black screen.

it goes no further

i've tried to get into recovery mode (back 2secs, +power 2secs, back 2secs) to no avail.

no matter what i try with keys/time it always boots to the error.

it shows in windows device manager as "android adb interface / android phone"

so i've tried flashing r8 but no joy.

the .bat runs but cannot see the device so hangs.

help!!

EDIT: doh. first, power must be connected to enter recovery. second, flashing the stock new 1.09 worked. panic over.

The first time i loaded the new R8 rom i had the same problem as well.

I just got a blank screen, so i first hit the power button for six seconds and then did the two sec thing.

But remember you have to have the charger plugged in to enter recovery mode.

I then flashed with 108 and the again with R8 and everything works again including usb host.

Hope this helps a little.

Common problem just read the instructions for a full flash and follow them exactly, if at first you don't succeed try again it will work. Also if you could read the forum before posting a problem like this that someone has at least every week it would be great.
