Guest nellster Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) is at CES 2011 at the ZTE stand. Looks like the next phones might have the same processor as what we have. Edited February 12, 2011 by nellster
Guest shadowninty Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 ZTE probably ordered/bought 20+ million MSM7227's on the cheap last year
Guest Prendy Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 Still has 2.1 too :P It says 'Android Froyo' on the display its sitting on.
Guest That-Guy Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 It says 'Android Froyo' on the display its sitting on. They say 2.1 while talking though :P

Guest vareBlade Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) Resistive screen? zte blade 2? maybe zte blade 0.5 :P Edited February 12, 2011 by vareBlade
Guest LVL91 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) Edit: All I said before was pretty false, I didn't watch the whole video, so I thought it was only about one phone. The 'ZTE Blade 2' looks like a simple ZTE Blade with a 5MP camera, which we already have... It's nothing to get excited about since it will still use the same cpu according to the lady in the video. (I was hoping for some cheap armv7 cpu) Edited February 13, 2011 by LVL91
Guest shadowninty Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 they all use MSM7227, we just have godlike devs :P
Guest fredewis Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I think the model he is pointing out is the last one with 3.8 screen I belive..
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I think the model he is pointing out is the last one with 3.8 screen I belive.. Yes, that one is called the ZTE v881 (the Blade is known as the v880), and it looks pretty similar. changes include Froyo, 5M Camera, support for HSPA+ 900(850)/1800/2100 (850Mhz is in brackets - presumably its only for some markets) Besides small cosmetic changes, it seems pretty similar: same processor/screen.
Guest ololizoz Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I might upgrade from the Blade when the last phone comes out. Specs: Model: V881 OS: Android FroYo GSM: GPRS EDGE, 850/900/1800/1900Mhz HSPA+/UTMS 900(850)/1800/2100Mhz Display: 480x800 pixels, 3.8", WVGA TFT+TPIC (Capacitive touch screen) Camera: 5.0 MP Color CMOS AF (Customized) BluetoothTM 2.1, A2DP, AVRCP WiFi/GPS/GMS Optional: Micro SD, FM, A-GPS

The Dreamer slightly resembles the Desire... ZTE must have really gotten a bargain on the MSM7227's... Edited February 13, 2011 by ninzor

One interesting oddity in that 881 spec is that while GPS is standard, Assisted GPS is optional. Given the slight oddities of GPS on Seb's DX2 rom, I do wonder if the original X880 (on which it is based) might be lacking A-GPS ... However, the explicit mention of AVRCP as a standard Bluetooth profile might cheer up some car-kit owners ... Regarding the 600mhz MSM7227's, while its possibly disappointing that ZTE should be clinging to that platform, it does seem as though there is going to be an awful lot of (volume sales) pressure on Adobe to offer Flash for that architecture. Guest LVL91 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) they all use MSM7227, we just have godlike devs :P Yes we have! :D The MSM7227 is actually pretty good compared to the QSD8250. And Cyanogenmod 7 is looking pretty good, Jacob from the CM team is working on it. And Tom G says that he has already made more progress than himself. It all looks very promising for the Blade! I am so glad I bought this cheap phone! (Still use my Desire as main phone though) Edited February 13, 2011 by LVL91
