Guest klimu666 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Hi. Got blade with lcd screen and I'm wandering what screen type it has. It has much better view angles than my notebook. Colors are almost ideal at any angle of view. Is it ips or *va type?

Guest klimu666 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) I'm not wandering if my blede has oled or lcd. I know it has lcd.The real question, on which google couldn't find the answer, is the type of that lcd. Little hint: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD Edited February 13, 2011 by klimu666
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I'm gonna go with TN, as IPS is still very expensive and high end, and to my knowledge the iPhone 4 is the only phone that offers it. But of course, just because it's TN, doesn't mean it's not a very high quality display, especially as it may be on of the fancy high quality SLCD screens, instead. Another thing that makes me belive it's not IPS is the fact it doesn't do full colour reproduction...there's a lot of dithering on the screen...

Guest klimu666 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Ok after some search I have found...strange things :D First some screens from my cell: According to this pdf: click and this site click it's a ordinary lcd with led backlight capable of display 24bit color (16,7M colors). Another thing is that what I have read from this topic: On the Stock Orange ROM Devices that have TFT Screens have the build Number OUK_P729BV1.0.0B08 (OLED can have this buid also - but rarely) Devices that have OLED Screens have the build Number OUK_P729BV1.0.0B05 Got stock orange rom, and mine is ending on 0B05. I'm sure it's lcd. So is limitation of number of colors is caused by ZTE's android modification or lack proper gpu drivers? Edited February 13, 2011 by klimu666

Yours is a tft. A lot of tft manufacturers claim their screens can display 24bit colour, but most of the cheap ones only achieve that through some sort of dithering. Edited February 14, 2011 by wbaw
