Guest ultraa Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I have just bought a brand new HTC Desire, I have rooted the phone using this tool: http://unrevoked.com/ I am able to browse internet on the phone okay, but the built in Wifi tethering doesn't seem to work. Both of my laptop and ipod touch can connect to it, but no data is transferring through. The built in USB tethering has the same issue as well, I have installed the latest of HTC Sync on both Win7 and XP. But then again no data is transferring to my laptop and desktop. Does anyone have the same problem? I have 2 other Android 2.2 phones (non-HTC), and both of the funcitons work okay. So I think there is something wrong on my HTC Desire. ** I don't think the phone is faulty, if I use the "Wireless Tether for Root Users" app, I am able to use my phone as a hotspot okay. ** It it annoying that the built in functions on Andriod 2.2 doesn't work.
