Swapping SD Card with EXT2 Partition

Recommended Posts

Hi all - had a search but couldn't find anything relevant.

Currently have a 4Gb SD card installed on which I have created a 512Mb EXT2 partition and using Link2SD, have moved several apps from Vega memory to SD. I now have a 8Gb card that I want to use but am slightly unsure how to copy the data within the EXT2 partition.

I suspect that I will have to 'move' the apps from current EXT2 back into Vega memory, swap card, partition new card, copy data over then move the apps back to EXT2 but this is the first time I will have done anything like this so would appreciate any help / guidance.

TIA

The best way to do it would be to do a nandroid backup of your rom in clockwork mod (and copy all the stuff on your fat to pc)

Put new sd card in, create your ext partition

Restore nandroid (this will then restore your ext)

Copy back contents of fat

Thanks - I've done Nandroid backups before but assumed they were stored on the SD rather than device memory. That sounds reasonably easy so I'll give it a go now.

No they are on the sd card memory (pre-coffee me) just copy the cwm folder from your fat on the old sd to the new one before restoring.
