Guest Jekle Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Have you dropped your Phone in water? If not try reverting back to an Orange Stock ROM, still not working? because you have restored your device back to factory recovery and ROM you may be able to get a replacement from Orange.

No it isn't a case of it being near or even in water! It's still a new toy! No chance! I think I have found out what the problem is, and I don't know what to do. Google decided to dump it's talk package on my phone. Except when I try to log into talk, it tells me that the sign-in is unsuccessful. And when I try to log into my gmail account on my phone, it tells me that there was a network error while trying to sign in to [email protected]. Retry now or press the back button to cancel. But when I hit the try again button, the same messsage comes up again...and again .... and again. How do I get rid of this truly vile package? I don't want this on my phone. It isn't on my list of applications, so I can't even delete it. I don't even know what it is! They didn't even have the decency to tell me what it is! I would be really grateful if someone could advise. TIA

ONLY IF ON 2.2 IF ON 2.1 PHONE AND MARKET WILL STOP WORKING CAUSING FAULT OVER LOAD = BOOT LOOP Okay. I sorted out the google stuff. And that wasn't it! So I need to try your suggestion. I am a noob, so I'm not really au fait with this stuff, so please bear with me. :D I am runnng on 2.2, but how do I delete the APK from the rom/system/app/xxxxxx? Do I need to connect this to the pc to do this? Or can I do this from my phone? The reason why i am asking because my laptop doesn't recognise my drivers. (I did put the drivers on and it did recognise it once, but it never did again) Can i delete it just using the phone? Thanks in advance NIKKE

Yes, I did and I was following it perfectly.... until I tried to delete the talk app. and then my pc wouldn't do it as it said there was an error 0x80004005. I did google to find out what it was, and it seems I have to use the operating cd, and I don't have it on me at the moment, so I am going to try to delete the talk app on another pc tomorrow. Can I just thank you very much for all your help. It is very much appreciated! I've never done rooting and all this stuff before, and sometimes it was a little scary... but it was great going past one's comfort zone and I have become much more confident with all this pc stuff. And thanks for coming to my aid so quickly. I will be back tommorow! NIKKE
