Guest King Mustard Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 What is a safe speed to set a ZTE Blade running Japanese Jellyfish RLS8 to in SetCPU?
Guest Lew247 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 No such thing - each phone is different. What's the best speed for you might be unsafe and crash another phone The "safe speed" is 600Mhz the speed it was designed for
Guest Ron=) Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 What is a safe speed to set a ZTE Blade running Japanese Jellyfish RLS8 to in SetCPU? I've been overclocked to 710 for a while now. The phone is stable and heat is not an issue.
Guest Pelemane Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 What is a safe speed to set a ZTE Blade running Japanese Jellyfish RLS8 to in SetCPU? 600 MHz is safe. Anythig above that may not be safe but could be safe. You just have to try what is stable on your device. Every cpu is different and some cpus cant handle over 700 MHz but mine handles 768 MHz.
Guest admanirv Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 I've been overclocked to 710 for a while now. The phone is stable and heat is not an issue. Agree i have found it to be good on 710mhz, ive actually had it higher and it didnt lock up but went to 710.
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 710 is good for me I do however set the Minimum higher when the screen is on (400mhz) this make the phone more snappy in response
Guest Frankish Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Mine has a sweet spot at 710mhz...any higher an it is less responsive and prone to reboots.
Guest ricer Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Yep, My Blade doesn't like anything above 710Mhz, that seems to be the sweet spot alright.
Guest Danhandy Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 748 MAX, 122 MIN. Completely stable for weeks. Can go higher but get crashes occasionally.
Guest targetbsp Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 710 for me too. So maybe that is a likely place to reach but I've seen people only able achieve lower than that and the only truly safe thing is to find what your specific cpu can handle. Go up a step at a time from stock and test.
Guest rbbrslmn Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 arent they hot as hell at those temps??
Guest targetbsp Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Nope. The back of the phone at the top is warm (not hot) while doing hard work but it is when not overlocked. And when the cpu isn't doing hard work it drops down to a lower speed.
Guest galorin Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 672 Max 320 min for me. Anything lower, my phone doesn't wake properly an any faster, apps start locking up. I guess I am just unlucky.
Guest phlum Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 What is the advantage of overclocking? Does it improve performance? Does underclocking while sleeping increase battery life? SO MANY QUESTIONS.
Guest shakerist Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 748mhz is stable and higher will lock up after 2 mins of playing angry bird but most the time i run at 600mhz apart from when i play angry birds
Guest Plxply Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) I can personally get to 729mhz stable, if I bring it up to 748mhz it works for a few minutes but about an hour or so later it will randomly lock up. But once again it's different for everyone and I consider that I'm lucky I can get it to 729 over the average I've seen of 710. What is the advantage of overclocking? Does it improve performance? Does underclocking while sleeping increase battery life? SO MANY QUESTIONS. I find that it increases the overall speed of the phone and the experience especially in intensive games such as Angry Birds. I have it set to go to 320 max and 122 minimum when the screen was off and I have found that it increases battery life, if I decrease it further than 320 it becomes extremely laggy when answering phone calls. Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) 710 is good for me I do however set the Minimum higher when the screen is on (400mhz) this make the phone more snappy in response Stupid Question. How exactly do you set your cpu in set cpu? The slider does not allow you to go past 600 when I use the auto value option (or whatever its called) When I use the custom option, I can set the values beyond 600 and slider the slider to such a value, and in the notification bar it will say something along the lines of "max:700 min:150". However, when you navigate to the "main" tab in the application none of the text displays anything beyond 600, only that of the slider. So I was wondering, have I truly over clocked my phone? Or am I just thinking I have? Attached are some screenshots... (im pretty sure Ive done it wrong, I mean look at the values) Cheers In Advance. EDIT: Is it because I am running Modaco froyo rls12? Does that support over-clocking? or do you only need a special kernel for AHB over-clocking?....I can certainly under-clock (I accidentally set max to 150 once.......) EDIT: It's the ROM isn't it.... I tried using jjlrs9, but I really didn't like the launcher, and it seemed even laggier than the original stock ROM the phone came with....and so I just gave up on it, which I might as well, since development has supposedly dropped for JJ anyway? Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 691 or 710 seems a good value for the blade
Guest alanli613 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) 691 Max 245 min for me If higher than it will reboot Edited February 16, 2011 by alanli613
Guest m_w_clarke Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Does overclocking have a big effect on the battery life?
Guest MidaMilunk Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) Stupid Question. How exactly do you set your cpu in set cpu? The slider does not allow you to go past 600 when I use the auto value option (or whatever its called) It depends on the kernel, not the ROM. I use max 710, min 320 for normal, it is more responsive than the original (min 245). I play only little, I guess it very rarely, or never uses the maximum value. I also set up a few profiles, for charging (max 600, min 245 to avoid overheating), and below 30% (max 600, min 122), and below 20% (max 480, min 122). And yet another one for screen off to 480/122 - no problem with background GPS or call reception. Edited February 16, 2011 by MidaMilunk

Or do I need to change ROMS??
