Guest Corvetero Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hi all! I have the "Moon Reader pro" ebook reader in my little phone with Android 2.1. It's a funny program because it can read aloud my ebooks and I love hearing it at night :D Now I just buy an Advent Vega, and I will to install the program in it but... But I don't found the speech synthesis in it!! I'm very worried... Please, can anyone help me? Can I install speech synthesis whith the wonderfull MoDaCo's ROM? Thank you very much in advance :D
Guest trevor432990 Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Speech synthesis works with apps like Google Navigator so I don't see any reason why an eBook reader app would not work but probably best to wait for someone to recommend an app here on the forum or if it comes to it test any app before you buy :D
Guest Sanddancer75 Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I've just tried installing eSpeak for Android & Talkback but don't get any Voice input & output or Accessibility options in my menu like I do with my Orange San Francisco. Sorry, but good luck with it.
Guest whatkatedoes Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I dont know about his Vega, but mine speaks quite fluently :D I downloaded an app from market which is a movie quiz game. Its quite neat, in that it speaks the questions to you, and you speak the answers back ! :D I think there was an issue about the text-to-speech options being missing in the settings menu, but apparently they are lurking through some service menu or other? But mine was enabled by default.
Guest Sir Gash Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 To access the Text-to-speech settings just do the following (note: this should would with LauncherPro or ADW but possibly not the stock launcher, in which case you will need to download something like 'Folder Organizer' or just switch launchers :D) - Long press an empty area on your home screen and select 'Shortcuts' - Click on 'Activities' - Scroll down until you see 'Settings' and tap it once - Then select 'Text-to-speech settings' and press OK You now have a custom shortcut to the text-to-speech settings!
