Guest 78hawk Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hi, Love using Swype on my HTC Desire but the version I have doesn't work on my Vega. Does anyone know where to get a version of Swype or SlideIT that works on the Vega? Thanks Hawk

Guest rferrett Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Swype are planning a tablet edition shortly. I had SlideIT and frankly thought it was rubbish. Swype is loads better.

Guest godinandroid Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I use SlideIT loads and find it brilliant, does Swype also come with a Brazilian underwear model with a history of abuse or something?
Guest rferrett Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Looks from this that swype have aalready developed a tablet edition and are waiting to release with a knew OEM honeycomb tab. http://androidheadlines.com/2010/04/exclus...nd-android.html

Guest rferrett Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Hmm id say for ne a proper tablet swipe keyboard would utilise the tablet landscape view much better thab fkext9. Doesnt compare to swype for me. Still horses for courses eh?
Guest MaxiP Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 As a side note, I love SwiftKey on my phone and they are currently developing a tablet variant that looks pretty good ( )
Guest Dav0 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Just bought through android market took flipping ages but got there eventually, typing with it now as we speak will let you know how I get on but seems ok first bash Slide it seems a bit more intuitive but will have to wait and see, only got about about an hour to try that out on trial which wasn't enough The speech option seems intriguing, will try that later I
Guest shadow wave Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Has anybody got Swype to work on the vega yet? I have it installed but when you draw the edge of the keyboard flashes blue and it doesn't type.

Happily using Thumb Keyboard from Beansoft, can't, really fault it.
Guest rferrett Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Beta Tablet version of Swype? For real? I cant see anything about that on their website. Just seems to be phone editions still...
Guest theatomicfart Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) Beta Tablet version of Swype? For real? I cant see anything about that on their website. Just seems to be phone editions still... http://beta.swype.com/ Latest release supports Vega's screen resolution I think. Didn't find it that intuitive for tablet use though...that's to say I had the same problems as shadow wave. Edited March 12, 2011 by theatomicfart
Guest wipeout140 Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) I downloaded the latest beta from there website, it now install and opens properly but when you swipe over the letters , nothing is shown like shadow wave said. I gone back to Smart Keyboard Pro for now Edited March 12, 2011 by wipeout140
Guest tom5 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Exactly the same problem as wipeout 140 for me. Shame because swype is great on my phone.
Guest rferrett Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Yeah it doesn't work. Will install but says you have the wrong version and wont swype. So little point in using it. Shame really given so many have had double touch issues with Vega a swipe based keyboard properly optimised for tablets would be the flipping business I reckon. Come on Swype!
