Guest dr_teeth Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hi folks, I'm new to the forum. Just got my Vega and installed Paul's ROM. Excellent! Just one issue I'm having, I have ripped some DVD's in MP4 format. The movies play fine but the audio is odd. In that all the background noise and incidental music etc is as clear as a bell but the actors voices are almost inaudible. Anyone come across this before? I am using the stock media player and wondered if there was any particular media player on the Market that might work around this issue. Hope I'm not repeating a previous thread but I have searched extensively and can't see any other mention of this. Thanks
Guest gingercat Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I suspect whatever software you used to rip the DVD hasn't encoded the center speaker channel (where most speech would be found)

Before doing that, what media player are you using. I had issues with the stock player but Rockplayer Lite, seemed to work fine. (And for info I use handbrake, if you're on windows you will also need to use something like DVD 42) Edited February 16, 2011 by Dan Holliday

I'm going to download Rockplayer and see if that helps. Will post if it does in case anyone else has similar problems.

Play the file in hardware decoding mode and the movies are perfect. Thanks for the suggestions.
