As the title suggests, im going to get one this saturday, I have already downloaded this and I plan on removing the orange bloatware I was thinking about doing it this way but im not sure whether or not to do it that way or get a ROM. So my questions are; what do you think I should do, what ROMs do you suggest and why, and whats the advantages?

p.s this will be my first android phone

Seb's ROMs are always clean and fast, but Modaco ROM is also good :D

Just make sure you go for a 2.2 ROM as for me they seem faster.

Whats the difference between 2.1 and 2.2

Are there any benefits to doing it the way I originally planned?

2.2 is much improved to 2.1, better battery, apps2sd, faster and so on. But 2.3 CyanogenMOD 7 is getting better and better, personally I wouldn't get my hands dirty with 2.1.

I am a first timer and I followed this site, it worked like a charm. I used flb Froyo G2 rom and prior to that used the Jellyfish R9. Much prefer Flibbesans rom.

I second that

3rded JJ rls 9 was buggy and unresponsive on my handset the FLB ROM is like owning a completely different phone.

And I'm going to third it.

Installed my first ROM this week - I was going to go for Jellyfish but development has recently stopped on it. Considered Modaco but r12 was new and Paul was off on holiday. Chose FLB G2 (r8a) and am loving it so far. If the usage poll thread gets reset any time soon, then I'd expect this ROM might have gained some share since the start of Feb.

If you're confident following the guide - I'd recommend it.
