Guest Berndvh Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 really this would be a boost to the pulse development. but i dont really think they will release 2.2 officially for our pulses. i think they will leave the pulse and focus on the new huawei devices coming out soon. but still a small glimpse of hope remains :D
Guest mikeb90 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 well, whenever they'll release a 2.2 official version of the OS, it'll be probably the least official release for the u8220, and becouse the 2.2 has been run on almost every android device officially, and we can say that a lot of time from its release's been passed, i think they it coul'd be possible this least upgrade...it'd be great *-*

Guest twrock Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 It should be really easy for Huawei to release a 2.2 rom for the U8220. All they need to do is port the Cyanogen mod and add the proper drivers. :D :) :) :) :D

Then they'd really support the community :D Sh4d0w940
Guest MaxSmith Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Jep Huawei department has busy days:D and they do great:D because my Huawei u8500 is running on FROYO allready:D heheee:D its 10 times faster (games, op system etc..)
Guest D-D- Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Amm... Isn't that on the link like a petition or something? Like is it official or just...?
Guest Ellia Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 I will not believe it until I see the release. There were much promise from T-Mobile and Huawei and too much delay in the last year.
Guest biron_w Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 If they do release it I just hope it's vanilla froyo made for the pulse but without any t-mobile crap on it.
Guest El Nino9 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 yeah it would be a dream come true! but on the other hand if they follow the same policy as HTC we are screwd. as for HTC doesnt update their older android phones after some time. so i have my doubts but then again it would be great if they did! the magic 32b also known as mytouch 3g got an update to official froyo. the G1 could not handle anything above 1.6 officially without modifying the partitions and they never bothered. the 32b got, 1.5, 1.6 and then final update to 2.2. it got a new radio which used less space a new bootloader and everything. but again that product was phased out ages ago yet it got an update. now coming onto htc sense ui products. because the overlay and the framework needing to be modified a lot htc are rubbish with updating. the hero got 2.1 and i think they made it quiet clear with the huge delay they did with that product it would be its last. having compared both i would say the 32b magic got updated purely because customers in the USA were tied to lengthy 2 year contracts for such a device which felt outdated in terms of performance. so i believe tmobile had more influence in forcing an update for that product. i dont see many handset providers doing that. they would just like you to purchase a new handset instead. now back to the pulse, it was designed to be a budget android phone. i have no facts and figures of how many they sold and how many are still in use. it is mainly a pay as you go phone so something that a network usually wont care about in my person opinion. on the other hand if they did release 2.2 it would keep people happy. if the update is coming from manufactures site, it might be unbranded. again all we can do is hope. it probably would be its last. but hey the 2.1 update maybe its last. defo wont be getting gingerbread unless miracles happen
Guest kinkiyf Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 In the new post, they said pulse will not be updated to 2.2, and they gonne fix the 2.1 bugs. They have released the 2.1 kernel code. post link here:http://developer.huaweidevice.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=3001&extra=page%3D1

Back to my suggestion that they port CM. :D Sheesh, Tom already did 95% of the work for them. :D
Guest niuniuchou Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Huawei said that if the developers have Wifi driver code and other requirements, you can also share access to the forum
