Guest Cant-think-of-one Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Ive searched the forums and just cant seem to find anything, sorry, but how do i transfer files from an android phone to the vega without emailing? Bluetooth doesnt work (seems the vega doesnt support bluetooth file sharing?) And connecting the phone via usb it doesnt even come up with anything. Sorry to be stupid but im very new to this and it's a hell of a learning curve :D Thanks in advance, Chris
Guest Mr E Mann Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) I use Android Manager WiFi (find it in the Market)... cracking piece of kit... There's a PC program to run, and one on the tablet... and it lets you drag and drop files as required (using your internal network) Edited February 16, 2011 by Mr E Mann
Guest Cant-think-of-one Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 That's very cool, thanks for that :D
Guest simonta Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) If all you want is simple drop and drag, for videos, music etc just install the Vega's own sync tool. It works very well for simple needs. You can find it on your SD Card, I've forgotten where and deleted mine a long time ago although I did post about it some time ago... BTW Don't mean to sound sarky but when you say you searched, searched where? Simply searching for "transfer files" takes you to the above answers in about 20 seconds.... Guest Greedydog Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Why not just use Dropbox? 2 secs to set up and away you go! :D
Guest Cant-think-of-one Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks guys :D I searched for "transfer files from phone" which bought up a few threads about iPhone problems and "transfer files drom Android phone" which returned no results. Maybe I'm being stupid but I assumed that simply searching "transfer files" on a forum like this would have resulted in thousands of hits relating to Android programming etc that I wouldn't understand. Live & learn...

Live & learn... I like Websharing too... No need to install anything on the PC as it uses a web interface... Google it... :D
Guest Cant-think-of-one Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks for that, I Googled it and picked up some sort of virus on the top hit? one of those "your computer is infected" scam things. Think I'll stay clear of that...
Guest Sanddancer75 Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 I'd recommend Dropbox too. Install it on your PC & you can copy stuff to & from that too, you can even share selected folders with friends.
Guest thedicemaster Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...unting-scripts/ requires root on your tablet. connect usb > enable storage mode on phone > run script 6 in gscript on tablet > USB icon should appear in ifilemanager and phone sdcard should appear in system_usb or install es file explorer on both devices, and use it's built-in bluetooth browser to browse the phone's sdcard and copy files.
