Guest dbaseii Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I have tried fring, skype yahoo messenger but cannot find an app that works for video calling. Any suggestions?
Guest rferrett Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I think Paul's "app of the day" today was for an Android Video calling App. It is called "Tango" and there will be a thread on it that you can find form the pinned threads up the top! Skype have said an Android update that will incorporate Video calling is immenent. I expect to released very soon what with all these honeycomb tabs and front camera phones being released at the moment. Ralph

Yahoo Messenger does work I've tried and tested on the Vega already. What happens when you try and run it? :D With Yahoo your user ID must show you are over 18 years old for the video part to work :D Edited February 16, 2011 by trevor432990

Does tango have a windows client?
Guest hjg Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I agree Messenger works fine to/from Vega to/from pc. Ensure you load the 'add-on' or you won't get video. I have just come back from holiday (Caribbean) and spoke to mother, kids & grandkids OK. It can be a bit flaky at times - an incoming call whilst in a call kills the current call. Also I found I had to delete/reinstall messenger on the Vega every now and then.

I can send messages etc with no probs but cannot voice/video call. The video "add on" is installed but still no go. I know its not my account settings as well since it works fine on my laptop. Anyone got any ideas? Edited February 17, 2011 by Tony Williams

Anyone got any ideas? I tested at home beofre my trip away and got full audio/video between my Vega, laptop (Vista) and desktop (XP). Once abroad I did have to de-install and reinstall Messenger on the vega a couple of times, but it did work quite well (maybe not as good as Skype pc-pc). I contacted 2 PCs from the Vega, one where I installed the Windows version and another where someone else did. However my one daughter did fail - even though the IM'ing worked fine.
Guest Moosey33 Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Hi Guys, I just got my Vega. I was told that I could use skype on it "defo" from the guy in Dixon's. It seems I defo can't yet, so I read your posts with interest. Problem is, I can't find the download for Yahoo messenger. I've searched all over this forum and googled, and on Yahoo itself, they require a mobile number. Can anyone help please? Sorry my lack of research, but I went in to buy a netbook, but the Vega is soooooo lovely. Cheers
Guest celyn Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Ive been keeping an eye on oovoo. It didnt work at all to start with but now just cuts off when starting a video call. Hopefully this will beworking soon when its out of beta.
