Thanks, MuniekMg Try using terminal emulator on phone or via ADB connected to a PC and use the command: reboot recovery This should force it to reboot into recovery, if it doesn't something's wrong with your flash of the partition. If it does then something else is up - broken Vol [-] button perhaps?
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 How do you install clockwork ? Fastboot ? Which version ?
Guest MuniekMg Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Swimmerboy - When I wrote in terminal emulator "reboot recovery" it showed me "reboot: Operation not permitted" what do you think about this? and button Vol[-] works properly. THX:) Phoenix Silver - Yea, I installed with fastboot but which version... how can i know it? I downloaded from here: http://www.multiupload.com/ZJHCJYKLFV

Guest Swimmerboy Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 type 'su' & press enter first. ^ What he said When you open the terminal emulator you're in as a 'normal' user - you have to use the command 'su' to switch to the root user - this will let you use more commands. The first time you do this you'll be presented with a pop-up asking if you want to give the application root access - you'll want to allow this. Note: Your phone MUST be rooted for this to work.
Guest Swimmerboy Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 What do you mean? I'm a new user of android... I thought "root" and "clockwork" it's the same things but other words... Nope, completely different. When you 'root' (aka 'Jailbreak' on iPhones) your device you're getting access to the 'root' account - this account is God when it comes to the phone, and you can do pretty much anything you want to. Installing clockwork updates the recovery partition - similar to upgrading the BIOS in a PC. This allows you to perform a number of actions without booting into the OS - which can be handy for flashing new ROMS, backing up data, and recovering (hence the name) from something going wrong. Your phone can be rooted without installing Clockwork, and similarly it's possible to install Clockwork without rooting. Most people will want to do both though - and most (if not all?) of the custom ROM's come pre-rooted.
Guest MuniekMg Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Ok, so... I wrote "su" and clicked enter, it showed me "su: permission denied" next i wrote "reboot recovery" and it showed me "reboot: Operation not permitted" My device is rooted, i know this because when i installed this http://www.multiupload.com/4Y5T2UJTYJ and then clicked "go root" it showed me that, my device had rooted before. Guest MuniekMg Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 I did that: -Installation UniversalAndroot-1.6.2-beta5 -Click "Go Root" -"Root again?" -Click "Root me please" -Rooting... -"Woot ! Your device is rooted !" -Turn off system -Vol[-] + Power -and unfortunately, no effect. -System loads normally btw. I saw that when system is loaded with "vol [-] + Power", buttons below screen don't work at all What can i do it? Thank, MuniekMg
